Violin has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. At the age of 4, I fell in love with the instrument after watching a violinist (my future teacher, in fact!) performing at a family member’s wedding. I told my parents that that was what I wanted to do, they enrolled me in Suzuki violin lessons, and the rest is history!
I went on to study Violin Performance at DePauw University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music, and at DePaul University where I received my Master’s in Violin Performance. My primary teachers have included Olga Kaler, Dan Rizner, and Jackie Fisher.
Music has been the biggest constant in my life, and my most fulfilling form of connection. It’s given me the opportunity to travel the world, performing in venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Chicago Theatre, and St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, as well as at festivals such as Ravinia and Lollapalooza.
While I love to perform, I have found my true passion in teaching, sharing music with the next generation. I have taught group violin lessons at Brentano Elementary, St. Sylvester, Pritzker Elementary, and Burr Elementary, and have been teaching private lessons for over a decade. I am a Suzuki-trained teacher and have studied Suzuki pedagogy with Edward Kreitman, Charles Krigbaum, Daina Staggs, and James Hutchins through the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
My goal as a violin teacher is to provide my students with the tools to not just play great music, but to live great lives.
